A little bit of this and that!

Hellooooooo!

I hope you are having a brilliant week so far.....

Well, I have been having a play with various bits and pieces....

I have some green yarn, which has been sitting looking at me for quite a while, and I could not think what to do with it, as I do not have a lot of it, so I decided I would make a very simple straight forward scarf.....

Nothing tricky, just simple stocking stitch and garter stitch, so that I don't have to think about what I am doing!!!

I love the way the green shades change hues, and the simplicity of it all.  It is nice to create something that does not have a deadline to meet, or complicated stitches to concentrate on, it can be picked up when I have the urge to do some of it, or it can sit and patiently wait for me.....

I have also been experimenting with making little brooches, and I came up with this.....

It did turn out a bit bigger than I was thinking, but I do like it!!!  I just need to get a few bits and pieces to finish it off, so that I can attach it to where ever I please!!!

Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend....

A little bit of print....

Welcome back....

Well, I have been busy with bits of print which I thought I would share with you....

Bean, managed to completely destroy her P.E. bag, and came home upset and begged me to try and fix it.... Sadly it was beyond repair, but fortunately, I had a couple of days to come up with an idea.....

Bean does Mixed Martial Arts to keep fit and competes in competitions with it, and I have to say she does pretty well in it, and I have to admit...... she is crazy about it, so I created a bag using calico, and then I spent a day coming up with an appropriate design for her bag......

Here goes..............

What do you think???  Above the writing on her actual bag, I also added her name in red, with black back stitch around each letter to ensure it stand out.

Well.... bean was absolutely thrilled with her new P.E. bag and I was pleased that it turned out so well!!

I have now got other bits to do for bean, relating to red nose day!!!  So watch this space....

See you soon!

Hexagon Blanket

Hello!

How are you all?

Do you recall this post??  You may recall at the very end of it I left you with a black and white picture of a Hexagon blanket.........

Well, here it is in colour for you.....

It is going to be a large blanket when it it complete, and progress on it is slow, as I mainly pick it up when I have a few minutes spare.

The picture below shows the progress on it so far.....

I have joined a few more hexagons to it since this last picture, but it is gorgeous and very bright!!!

As it progresses, I will post more about it.

Well, until next time.... keep creating!

See you soon!

Winter Glimpse

Good Morning......

How are you all doing?  Well, we have had terrible weather again!!!

But...... it is beautiful!!!

Sunrises have been pretty and picturesque....

Then we have the snow melting and freezing over and we wake up to sights like these icicles....

and frozen stems, which look surreal.....

The trees and shrubs are not only covered in snow....... but ice and they look absolutely stunning!!!!

These pictures really do not do them any justice.

Everything looks crisp and white and beautiful!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Mothers Day wishes

Hello Everyone!!!!

I am finally back in the world of blogland!!!!

Well, after our lightening strike, we had total and utter chaos!!!!  The internet worked intermittently and each time I created a post, I'd get half way and the internet would go down, which resulted in a lot of frustration and cursing on my part as I lost lots of work!!!

Anyway, I am pleased to say that we updated a few bits and pieces and during the update, the engineers discovered that our line was faulty to the extent they were mystified as to how the telephone and internet were even working!!!  But..... it has all been fixed and everything is back to normal! Yaaay!!

Well, where to start!!!  Firstly, I hope that everyone that was celebrating Mothers Day yesterday had an amazing day!!  It's pretty weird, as we celebrate Mothers day in March here and when my late Mother was alive, I always had to remember that in Africa Mothers Day is in May!!!  Luckily, it is easily remembered as it usually falls around the same time as my birthday!!!

Anyway....  I was truly spoilt by my gorgeous girls!!!  They got me the biggest basket of flowers plants....

It is truly amazing!!!  And...... they also got me a double stemmed orchid!!

I only took this close up, as it is the only bud open.  the others are all still closed, so as they start to flower, I will take more photos.

And to top it off M and the girls cooked a roast dinner with all the trimmings!!!  It was amazing and I feel lucky and blessed to have such a wonderful and thoughtful family.

Well, I must close for now, but keep an eye out for lots of updates!!!

Take care and see you soon!
