A little bit of print....

Welcome back....

Well, I have been busy with bits of print which I thought I would share with you....

Bean, managed to completely destroy her P.E. bag, and came home upset and begged me to try and fix it.... Sadly it was beyond repair, but fortunately, I had a couple of days to come up with an idea.....

Bean does Mixed Martial Arts to keep fit and competes in competitions with it, and I have to say she does pretty well in it, and I have to admit...... she is crazy about it, so I created a bag using calico, and then I spent a day coming up with an appropriate design for her bag......

Here goes..............

What do you think???  Above the writing on her actual bag, I also added her name in red, with black back stitch around each letter to ensure it stand out.

Well.... bean was absolutely thrilled with her new P.E. bag and I was pleased that it turned out so well!!

I have now got other bits to do for bean, relating to red nose day!!!  So watch this space....

See you soon!

A little bit of.......

Helloooooo!

Well, I have been playing with an idea for absolutely ages and ages!

When I was at University, we did all sorts of bits and bobs, and you may recall from this post, that I struggled with the process of transfer printing, right up until my final year, when it all clicked into place and I knew how to use it and create with it, in a way that suited me.

Well I had a lot of bits left over from uni, which I have kept in a safe place to experiment with at a later date.....

Well, I gathered all my bits up that I required......

Traced my template onto the back of my transfer paper, lay them onto my material as I deemed fit for purpose and then.... Pressed, pressed and pressed!!!!

Hey presto!  The end results!!!

I was very pleased with the results, considering I didn't use my press, I used an iron.

The results are absolutely fine for test pieces, and I will be playing about more in the future, as I have a plan for some work like this, but all will be revealed in due course!

Hope you enjoy them.

Bits and pieces!

A selection of self covered buttons (waste not, want not!) and sequins which have been printed by me with my own designs, as well as sequins knitted into fabric. Simple, yet effective.

Transfer printing has finally clicked!!

A selection of transfer prints, for fashion accessories, based on folk art.

The more I did, the better they got!

The laptop bag I made.

I don't get the idea of transfer printing......... maybe one day!
